Thanks-Living (Couplets)
13th Nov 2009
Thanks for the years
Walking with You in faith, not fear.
Thanks for the months
Praising You for all that You’ve done.
Thanks for the weeks
Trusting You when I am weak.
Thanks for the days
Serving You, whatever You say.
Thanks for the hours
Singing Your love, grace and power.
Thanks for the minutes
Knowing You will meet all my needs.
Thanks for the seconds
Coming to You with all I am.
Thanks for the life
Living for You, be glorified.

First Time (by Moses Lam & Godpa)
It was my first time traveling overseas
Looking forward to it and could not sleep
First time on a plane out of this island
And my first time to Cameron Highlands
Many first times too during the trip
First time using a Malaysian Ringgit
My first time staying in a huge bungalow
Also my first time to Kuala Lumpur
First time surprised to see some live chickens
First time eating tasty ham and bacon
First time viewing a beautiful waterfall
First time seeing many roadside attap stalls
First time receiving a birthday gift while overseas
First time ever picking fresh strawberries
First time visiting many vegetable farms
First time really having so so much fun
As you can see, this is my first time
Writing my first poem that somehow rhyme
Maybe i should travel overseas more
And compose many poems for you all
Drafted by Moses Lam, with help from Godpa
on his holiday trip to Cameron Highlands and Kuala Lumpur
28th May to 1st June 2009
An Accident (Quatrain)
There was an accident, on one rainy day
A truck travelling along the expressway
The driver lost control of the wheel,
And his truck hit a car on the rear
Bang! Wham! The truck overturned with its load
Spilling all its content onto the road
The cargo of eggs splattered everywhere
Much to the driver's anguish and despair
Soon, a huge jam occurred
Some people were injured
Some shouted, some assisted
Some annoyed, some frustrated
Some stopped their cars along the shoulders
Some sounded their horns to warn others
The police came to restore order
Ambulance rushed the hurts to the hospital
What if the items in the truck
Were live chickens or ducks?
What if the truck carried pigs?
It would be a massive headache
What if I were the truck driver?
It would give me a chilling shiver
Wonder how I would live that day
Wonder if it would help if I'd prayed?
You Alone (Quatrain)
You alone are worthy of all praise
You only are supremely great
You alone write all human stories
You only deserve all the glory
You alone are truly majestic
Day by day I will meditate
You alone are the servant King
Day by day I will gladly sing
No one else will I want to worship
You are the One I seek fellowship
No one else will I offer my love
You are the One I joyfully serve
You alone are God and I am not
My Creator, my Provider and my Lord
You alone I will live solely for
My God, You alone can have my all
An Exciting Day - by Katriel Loh
Today, today ever so excited,
Waiting forever to get to it
Where to? You ask
The badminton court of course!
Shuttles flying up, shuttles flying down
Shuttles flying everywhere
and always on the ground
Oops! There goes another flying shuttle
Where has it gone? You ask
On my mother's head of course!
Baby, baby in the court
What is he doing in the court? You ask
Just a little figure on all fours
Chasing every shuttle that lands on the floor,
When he gets his hands on one,
Sucking it like a pacifier with much fun
Friendship (Quatrain)
Life is a unique journey
At times hard, sometimes lonely
God knows you need a sincere friend
To help you be all He intends
A true friend is God's precious gift
His care and concern all so swift
Risking the hurt to tell you the truth
Helping you succeed in all you do
He is not perfect but he is faithful
He comes alongside, he listens to you
He has your interests at heart
He hopes you'll be happy as a lark
A friend remains all so true
He stays close even when you're feeling blue
He puts your needs above his
More important than his hobbies
Ask God for a few good friends
True friends that He will send
Friends who know what friends are for
Friends who truly follow after God
A friend sharpens you to do what is right
Draws you closer to the Lord Jesus Christ
As he is to you, be a true friend to others
Point them often to our heavenly Father

29th Jan 2010
A young man went to see his dentist
He wanted to extract one of his teeth
"That is not the tooth
I want you to pull!"
The dentist replied, "I'm coming to it"
Noah

Noah's children were up in bed

A Season For Remembering
.jpg)
Christmas is a season for giving and receiving
To me, it's also a season for remembering
I remember that God sent His only Son in love
Giving me the best of all gifts from heaven above
I remember that Christ was born in a humble manger
He came to be my dearest friend, never a stranger
I remember the Christmas ornaments and bright lights
Singing nostalgic carols of Noel and Silent Night
I remember the many cards with nice warm greetings
Reading them often brings me sweet memorable feelings
I remember the festive meals with abundant food
Enjoying the friendship, ending with coffee fragrantly brewed
I remember the year past and how God led me through
Grateful indeed to have a God so faithful and true
Christ is the reason for the Christmas celebration
Apart from Him, there is no meaning to the season
Therefore give your heart to Jesus, give your all to Him
Love Him, honor Him, worship Him with unending hymms
Christmas is a season for giving and receiving
May it be to you a season for remembering

What sort of life am I living?
Am I living a people-directed life?
Perhaps.
I follow their words of wisdom.
Am I living a work-focused life?
Perhaps.
Work seems to represent my self-worth.
Am I living an obedience-centred life?
Perhaps.
Obedience seems legalistic and denotes my identity.
What sort of life God wants me to live?
A Christ-intent life
A life in Christ
A life with Christ
A life only Christ,
No need to add, no need to subtract
Christ alone is all I need.
In Him is divine wisdom to lead people
In Him is ample power to minister
In Him is pure gladness to obey Him
Christ alone is all I need.
